Why Choose Stainless Steel?

Stainless steel fasteners offer superior rust resistance and high-temperature capability compared to carbon steel. The addition of chromium creates a self-healing chromium oxide film on the surface, preventing galvanic corrosion in damp, coastal, and chemical refinery environments.

We manufacture fasteners in three primary stainless steel categories: A2 (SS 304) for general outdoor weather, A4 (SS 316) with molybdenum for chloride marine environments, and SS 310 for high-temperature furnace applications.

Fe ~70% Cr 18% Ni 8-10% (SS304)

Chemical Composition (Typical %)

Alloy Grade Chromium (Cr) Nickel (Ni) Molybdenum (Mo) Carbon (C) Max PREN Number
SS 304 (A2 Class) 18.0 - 20.0 % 8.0 - 10.5 % - 0.08 % 18.0 (Low-medium rust resistance)
SS 316 (A4 Class) 16.0 - 18.0 % 10.0 - 14.0 % 2.0 - 3.0 % 0.08 % 24.5 (High marine rust resistance)
SS 310 (Heat Class) 24.0 - 26.0 % 19.0 - 22.0 % - 0.15 % 25.0 (High temperature scaling limit)
